You want to learn important business skills at our events.

Building a solid network of connections is vital to the success of any business. All too often, business owners either don’t know how to network, or make significant mistakes that hamper their efforts.

At networking meetings, do you . . .

  • try to meet as many people as possible?
  • focus on telling people about your services or products?
  • collect as many business cards as you can?

If so, you are not making the best use of your networking opportunities!

Sounds counter-intuitive, right? Isn’t networking about “connecting with as many people as possible?”

No. It’s about building relationships with people who will remember you and refer people to you. To build relationships, you start by listening to the other person until you understand what they need to succeed in their business.

Our September luncheon offers three structured exercises where you will learn and practice networking skills. In the process, you are guaranteed to meet at least 20 people and connect with resources that can help your business prosper.

Networking expert Marie Warner says, “Our exercises facilitate networking with a focus on sharing and helping each other to succeed. This approach helps women not only make great connections on the spot, but also fosters strong ongoing business relationships.”

WIBC’s Top 101 Networking event is designed to ensure a rich and fruitful networking experience for all attendees. The program is limited to the first 101 people who register.

Networking is not about selling or adding everyone to your email list. It IS about building relationships—not just with potential clients but also with people who are glad to help your business grow and thrive. In any group of eight business owners, usually at least two know other people who are either potential clients or can solve your business’s problems.

Our Networking Exercise Leaders:

Shelly Berman-Rubera—President of SBR-Small Business Results and current President of WIBC—has built four businesses on a foundation of networking. Wyn Snow, past President of WIBC, says, “What Shelly doesn’t know about networking hasn’t been invented yet. She is a dynamic workshop leader and business coach whose signature program ‘Rock Your Business World’ has helped hundreds of people put a solid foundation under their business.” Shelly will emcee the event and briefly present what networking is—and is not.

Marie Warner—President and Founder of Warner Professional Sales, a sales recruiting, training and consulting firm— will lead the networking exercises. A former Sales and Marketing Vice President in both large enterprise firms and start-ups, Marie has over twenty years of experience in sales leadership, sales team development, coaching and training. Marie is a licensed Sales Trainer and certified Cold Call Coach, and helps companies and professionals achieve sales success through people, performance and planning. Marie is also Founder and Director of Warner Networking Events. Her special focus is helping women-led businesses, women entrepreneurs and corporate professionals grow and succeed.
